Groud Wire Glass Insulator
- Product Description
-
Product Introduction
Ground wire glass insulators are usually composed of three parts: glass components, steel caps and steel feet. The glass parts provide insulation, while the steel caps and steel feet are used for connection and fixation. The three are firmly connected by cement adhesive.
Its working principle is based on the electrical insulation performance and mechanical strength of glass. On the one hand, the glass part has a high volume resistivity and a stable dielectric constant, which can effectively isolate the ground wire from the grounding component and prevent current leakage. On the other hand, the steel caps and steel feet can withstand mechanical loads such as the tension of the ground wire and wind loads, ensuring the stability of the line structure.

High mechanical strength: Made of tempered glass material, through physical tempering process, a compressive stress layer is formed on the surface, with tensile strength reaching 80-120 mpa, capable of withstanding the tensile force of the ground wire and mechanical stress from the external environment.
Excellent electrical performance: Volume resistivity is greater than 10¹⁴Ω · cm, dielectric constant is stable, can effectively suppress corona discharge, and ensure insulation performance.
Self-breaking characteristic: When the ground wire glass insulator has internal defects and the electric field is concentrated, it will self-explode due to uneven thermal stress. After self-breaking, the fragments still adhere to the iron cap, forming a "honeycomb" structure, maintaining mechanical connection and preventing the ground wire from falling off. At the same time, it is convenient for operation and maintenance personnel to discover problems through visual inspection.
Application scenarios: Mainly applied in transmission lines of various voltage levels, it is used for the insulation suspension of ground wires, especially in mountainous areas, coastal regions and other areas with harsh environments. Due to its excellent performance, it can reliably ensure the safe operation of power lines.
